Vladimiresti Monastery, Galati County, Romania
The Monastery is situated up a long road outside the Tudor Vladimirescu village (on the way from Galati to Tecuci). Driving is the easiest way to get there and there is a cache to find if you’re into that kind of thing!
The Monastery is almost an oasis in the countryside. The surrounding area consists of vast agricultural fields without a tree in site but the Monastery is beautiful, and rich in vegetation. Most of it is also of the edible kind but there is a wide variety as well as a substantial amount of beautiful flowers that line the edge of the paths and roads. There is a main church you can go in, if you religious (or even if not) and plenty of places to sit and relax in the surrounding courtyard. If you wish to support the monastery there is a small shop where you can buy souvenirs as well as candles and a small shrine where you can light them.
